The treatment of trochanteric bursitis consists of oral or topical anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, ice and activity modification. If symptoms persist despite these regimens, a trochanteric steroid injection may be performed. Alternative treatment options may include cold laser therapy, OSKA magnetic therapy, massage and acupuncture may help as well.
