Dr. Christopher E. Urband, MD, FAAOS, fellowship trained orthopaedic sports medicine and shoulder surgeon.

Dr. Christopher E. Urband, MD, FAAOS
Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Christopher Urband is fellowship trained in orthopaedic sports medicine and shoulder surgery.  He has a special interest in treatment of shoulder, hip, and knee injuries and treats traumatic injuries of the musculosketal system from shoulder to foot.

Dr. Urband completed fellowship training at TRIA Orthopaedic Center, in Bloomington, MN where he helped care for multiple professional and university sports teams, including:

  • Minnesota Twins professional baseball

  • Minnesota Wild professional hockey

  • University of Minnesota sports (including Football, Basketball, Hockey)

  • Gustavus Adolphus University sports

  • Minnesota Magicians minor league hockey

  • X-Games Minneapolis

  • High school football

  • Multiple other tournaments and events.

An avid skier, surfer, backpacker, cyclist, and triathlete himself, he enjoys treating the athletic population.

 

He also trained extensively in shoulder reconstruction, including anatomic and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.

 

He has written multiple book chapters on upper extremity conditions.

More about Dr. Urband:

Dr. Urband graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.   He worked his way up to "Senior Design Engineer" at a well known aerospace company before returning to school and research in preparation for his orthopaedic career.

Dr. Urband is known for taking his time with patients.  He uses his engineering education to get to the "root cause" of issues rather than jumping to the most obivous or easiest solution when necessary.

Morgan Rury, PA- C 
Orthopaedic Physician Assistant 

Morgan graduated top of her class with a Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from University of California, Davis. Morgan was born and raised in San Diego, CA and is passionate about serving underserved communities. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at San Diego State University,where she majored in Kinesiology and spent much of her time working as physical therapy aide to gain clinical orthopaedic experience.

 

Morgan spends her leisurely time weightlifting, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking and relaxing with her partner and younger sisters. She is passionate about promoting an active lifestyle and prioritizes creating trusting, long lasting relationships with her patients. Morgan is looking forward to working with you and strives to stay up to date on research and treatment modalities to better help her patients overcome any orthopaedic concern.
